On the Internet, content is the most powerful currency to buy attention.  The better, more valuable and useful your content, the more people you’ll attract with it.

Having a clearly outlined content strategy is of the greatest importance while building your business on the Internet.

Always Deliver Value

It goes without saying that if your content is not good enough to grab the interest of your audience, you will never be able to reach critical mass in your online information business.

If you are good at content creation, and are expert at the subject matter of your website and business, then you can do it yourself.  Otherwise, hire a content provider to help you, or buy custom-made (or private label) content relevant to your niche.

Value Before Money

A wickedly effective principle that I have learned over the years is that when you deliver value even before money changes hands, you will build yourself a loyal following that respects, admires and adores you – and will willingly tell others about you.

When you think about your prospects as people who will definitely buy from you, at some time or the other, it becomes easy to think about the valuable content you are creating for them as ‘work for hire’ – that you’ll get paid for later on!

How Much For Free?

There is no easy answer to this question, and it all depends upon how your content fits into the rest of your business strategy and the model you use to profit.

If your primary goal is to get people to sample your knowledge and realize how experience you are, so that they will do business with you in other ways, then you can afford to give away all your content for free.

On the other hand, if your business model depends on turning your content into profit, then giving away a sample for free will whet their interest in buying the rest of it.

Having a clearly outlined and well-defined content strategy in place early in your efforts to build a home business will ensure that you get the maximum leverage and benefit from your expertise and knowledge.
